From 1966 to 1972, he worked for Mushi Productions. His debut work was W3 (Wonder Three).
After working as a freelance animator, he participated in the establishment of Tezuka Osamu's Tezuka Productions (Animation Department) in 1978. He was in charge of original drawings and animations for the theatrical animation "Firebird 2772" and the TV animations "Jungle Emperor" and "B.J. (Black Jack)". He was also in charge of the animation of "Jumping" (1984, directed by Osamu Tezuka), which won the Grand Prix at the 6th Zagreb International Animation Film Festival.
