Overview
Since the first domestically produced animated film was shown in Asakusa Rokku in 1917, animation has evolved along with ever-innovating video technology and has been preserved in a variety of media formats to this day.
In addition to video, audio, and subtitles, the production materials that create them are also valuable cultural assets.
In order to pass on these works to the future in a form that can be utilized for business development, industrial promotion, and human resource development, it is essential to update media and technology, secure funding and human resources, and deal with rights issues.
In this symposium, we will invite experts who are active in the forefront of video archives from the viewpoint of utilization, and look at the "past" and "future" of animation video archives. The symposium will create an opportunity to discuss the structure of a sustainable archive.

-Overall view of the animation video archive and definition of the original version
-What is the archive specification that facilitates utilization?
-The Urgent Need for Human Resource Development to Support Animation Video Archives
-Sustainable archiving in relation to the cost of preservation
